Patty and I are heading out for the East Coast tomorrow. We are going to be stopping in Eureka Springs, Arkansas for the first annual Green family reunion. Should be interesting. I have never been to Arkansas, so not sure what to expect.

Looks like my day in the hot afternoon watching the Red Sox play the Mariners is going to leave a mark. I got torched pretty good. It feels ok now, but will probably feel like hell in the morning. At least I had a hat on to keep from scorching the top […]

Patty and I were not impressed with Monster House. We both thought it was going to be better than it was. The visuals are hit and miss for me, with some stuff being super cool and other stuff being just ok. Same with the script. Some of it was weakly funny. […]

the Obscure Sound blog pointed What Made Milwaukee Famous out to me. Looks like their debut album will be released by Barsuk next month.
I definitely recommend downloading the free mp3s off of the Barsuk website:

“Sweet Lady” is more straightforward pop goodness, while “idecide” shows off some of their electronica stylings.

A Scanner Darkly is not your fun loving summer block buster, but it is still a good movie. It does have it’s moments of comedic brilliance. Robert Downey Jr. and Woody Harrelson as drugged up screw ups beating each other up is hilarious. In fact, the cartooned versions of them are better […]

I like “Tell Me […]

I saw X-Men - the Last Stand last month. I can hardly remember anything about the movie. It also made me want the second Pirates movie to be a great savior for the summer blockbuster season as Superman Returns held little interest for me, even with Bryan Singer directing. A Scanner […]

We spent the weekend in Centralia, Washington with our friends Brina and Darin as well as Kristin and her new boyfriend Eric. You don’t normally think of Centralia as a tourist destination, but McMenamins have pulled together a solid McMenamins experience in an old gentlemen’s club, whore house, bootlegging and pool hall establishment. The […]

I got an order of music from Amazon.co.uk recently to feed my British music obsession. Sometimes I just don’t have the patience to wait for the US release of the music.
The one cd that had really stood out for me is Inside In/Inside Out by the Kooks. Wasn’t sure what to […]

It’s been an interesting day. I awoke early to the sound of thunder pounding in my ears in the early morning. At least I think it was thunder. When I took the dogs out this morning, it looked like we had gotten some rain.
We launched the “Speed Freak” Estes rocket […]
